On May 20th, IU attended the fansign event held at Gwangju Chomdan as Unionbay's model, radiating with doll-like charm.
IU smiled throughout the event and had an enjoyable time with her Gwangju fans, making eye contact and talking to them one by one.
On hearing the news about IU arriving for this fansign, thousands of fans turned up at early dawn in the Gwangju Chomdan area and some of them waited until their legs were numb.
A representative from Unionbay's marketing department expressed, "We're beginning to feel the force of our modelling contract with IU. Since 2011, sales have increased by more than 40% compared to last year. Recently, IU's marine shirt which was featured in our summer ads had such an explosive response that it went out of stock and purchase enquiries are still flooding in. Meanwhile, IU has been receiving a lot of popularity for her self-composed track, "Hold My Hand", which was recently released as part of the 'Greatest Love of All' OST.
